Jon and Susan Moreshead are being given an expanding vision of a wholeness concept, the purpose of which is to bring
to people in need. Jon, an MD trained as a Family Practitioner, and Susan, an RN experienced in home health care, left the medical profession in 1990. In the last couple of years, they have again grown into a sense of God’s leading them back into the healing arena in a much larger and broader and more effective way. Their training as Massage Therapists, completed in March 2003, has opened their eyes and hearts to the profundity and effectiveness of "the laying on of hands." This could, personally, be sufficient for them, knowing that they would be impacting people in significant ways through the power of touch. However, the human organism is an amazing and complex creation that requires nurturing of body, mind, and spirit to find wholeness. While given guidelines in all of these areas by our Loving Father, our individual, social, and cultural brokenness has caused much disease, pain, and suffering. We envision a "center" that would provide: The Services
Many of these services would be appropriately scheduled on a weekly or more often basis for folk who would come and go at the appropriate times. These services could also be provided on a more intensive basis, daily or more frequently as needed, for those folk who need "respite" from their daily environments to afford time and energy for healing to occur. These would be invited to live at the center for the time necessary to accomplish set therapeutic goals. The Center This "center" would be a large home, pleasant to the eye and spirit, not overly "luxurious" but immediately warm and welcoming. It would be located on enough acreage to incorporate flower and vegetable gardens, used both as a source of exemplary food and as a therapeutic option for those interested. It would be located close enough to the urban center of St. Louis that folk could come and go easily for their appointments and training sessions. It would house the Moreshead family as their place of residence. It would provide a place for performing massage rooms and an office for counseling and the other modalities incorporated. It would include bathroom/plumbing facilities to accommodate detoxification devices (tubs, sauna). It would provide extra bedrooms for overnight or longer term guests with accessible bathroom facilities. It would have a large enough dining room and kitchen to easily accommodate the numbers of people typically present for meals, either as part of their therapy or as part of an instructional program. It would have a large living room suitable for holding training seminars, lectures, meditations, etc. |
